Tim's Birthday

Studio L3 are hosting a birthday card challenge for Tim Holtz our guru. Get over there and join in the fun All you have to do is make a card for Tim using any of his techniques from compendium 1 or 2. I've used Riveted Patchwork. Lovely stash to win.

Christmas Cards using Tim's stamps

I love this snowman.
I made quite a lot of all 4 of these.

I apologise for the poor quality of photo. They were rushed as I wanted to make sure I had a copy for next year. I do hope they inspire you to make your own.

Tim Holtz tags Dec2012

After a break of a few weeks I've finally managed to complete this months challenge.I do hope that Tim is going to continue with this idea next year even though I won't be able to take part in Jan and Feb. It really helps you learn and use new techniques.

WOYWW #178

Hi all of you lovely crafters on Julias Stamping challenge. My lovely sister is visiting and she has taken over my workspace and I am relegated to the kitchen table. Been desperately trying to finish the tag for Tim Holtz's challenge and making a card for one of my other sisters who will be a mere youngster to me at 60.  Which one would you prefer before I add the finishing touches?

Tim's Tags October 2012

Hi! Only just made Tim's October Tag Challenge it. I haven't got any of the dies or tissue paper so I made my own by using plain tissue paper and stamping it with the curiosity script stamp. The fence was made by cutting down the Tim Holtz bird cage and Tim's technique for this month. I used alcohol black soot ink to dye the siver spider.(Half of a pair of earings from the pound shop )Hope you Like.

Cricut and Cuttlebug

Hi folks ! Back from my hols. Still trying to use my cricut more, hence the above. The cream background was embossed and then coloured using antique linen and weathered wood distress inks. The frame was stamped with Versamark using a key and lock background and then embossed using Hobby art silver satin pearl embossing powder. The silhouette and inkwell and feather came from the Heritage cartridge and the flowers were cut from the Flower Shoppe cartridge. Firstly, though, I stuck double sided paper to the back of the card stock. After cutting out the flower spirals I gently peeled the paper off and pressed the spiral, sticky side down into very fine glitter.I then rolled the spiral into a flower from the outside in as opposed to from the middle out as described in the Flower shop manual. This way makes much nicer flowers. I did have to put a lot of glue underneath to make sure they didn't unwind because of the glitter. N.B: place the cardstock down onto the cricut cutting mat and not the double sided sticky side.

WOYWW #173

That time of the week again where we can peek at other crafters workspaces thanks to Julia and her Stamping Ground Blog. It is always pleasing to see  that other people also work in the smallest  of spaces. At the same time it is good to view new blogs too.

CHRISTMAS FRENZY

These 2 cards were made using Artemio Stamps and Distress inks.

This card below was stamped with Forest Moss Distress ink and then the colour pulled inwards using a water pen. The berries were coloured using Worn Lipstick distress marker then touched up using Ruby Slipper stickles. Having designed them I started a production line.

COC2 Challenge 21

Blended Stains

This weeks' challenge from Studio L3  set by the lovely Linda is Tims' Technique Blended Stains Page 45 fromVolume 2. Check it out!  Over the top of the blended stains I have stamped a New York skyline from Artemio stamps and stamped the branches around the edges from another Artemio set. I then rubbed  distress ink round the edges. Every second week of the month Simonsaysstamp  generously sponsor a special prize.

Mens'cards

Finally finished the Bingo card ready for Bob's birthday. I embossed cream card and distressed it with frayed burlap.Stamped and punched out the clock face and mounted on top of the die cut wings. I embossed  the 65 with Ranger Queen's gold which really does look like 9 carat gold.

This is one I made for my friends' son.
I embossed black card and then rubbed over it with Encore metallic gold. The cogs are Tim Holtz die cut and coloured with gold.

WOYWW Sept 12

I look forward to Wednesday now as it gives me the opportunity to look at other crafters workspaces.
Well, mine's a little tidier than before I think. I'd just spent 2 days tidying up and then decided to take part in the StudioL3 challenge No: 20 using Tim Holtzs' technique described in Volume 2. These challenges are a good way to practice  and learn how to implement these techniques into your crafting. I shall be linking to the site as soon as I have finished this blog. . The other card is for a friends 65th birthday this weekend. I've got so far and am unsure how to continue, so I am going to have something to eat with a colleague from my last school first.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Just made the Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Made this recently using my Cricut. Decided I wasn't using it, so I set myself a challenge to use  one of the cartridges , develop the flower idea and stamp the sentiment. Very simple but effective I think. I actually like making more complex flowers but I was pleased with the outcome. Consequently I now have some ideas for using the Cricut to make some Christmas cards combined with stamping techniques as stamping is my passion.

Ben's Card

I used one of Tim Holtz's ideas to create this card. In fact he uses this method for  his September Tag Challenge 2012.  Check him out at his blog.

and then a variety of sentiments and sayings.Inside I stamped music all over but faintly ( Ben's  passion)

Another day

What a day yesterday!  Knocked a whole cup of tea over on my dining room carpet whilst trying to negotiate round my temporary wheelchair. Later ,I trapped my hand between the wheelchair and a door and then trapped my fingers in a drawer. To cap it all I then lost my balance in the loo , grabbed the towel rail which broke and only stopped myself from completely falling over by putting my bad foot on the floor. Some days you just shouldn't get out of bed for your own safety. Here's hoping today is better. One good thing my best friend Toni came round for a chat and set up an extra table for me so that I'm not reaching down to the floor for my crafting stuff.

I used random stamps from my stash to decorate the various tags. Hope you like!Going to post this on WOYWW at  http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

When I saw this challenge  from Fashionable Stamping challenge I had to enter this tag as pistacchio ice-cream is my favourite and the blue reminds me of sunny summer days.

Tim Holtz Aug Tag 2012
I am very pleased with this tag as I had to improvise a lot. I used a Papermania Tri-boss folder to emboss the background before using an old stamp frame  (source unknown) which I embossed in black. I then cut the silhouette using my Cricut Heritage cartridge. The black roses and leaves were cut using the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartrige. I coloured the background following Tims' instructions. The ribbon flower under the black rose was one from a strip of ribbon bought on Walsall market. The top ribbon was coloured using Broken China and Peeled Paint. The tag was finally spritzed using Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold.

Happy Vintage Holidays

Hi, hope you like my latest card using Stampendous bathing beauty. I've used  embossing enamel in aged taupe from stampendous frantage range on the sand.I've also created a crackle background using the lovely cornish heritage farms stamp{cracle backgrounder}. I then went over with a little distress ink in tumbled glass. I am going to enter this into The Artistic Stamper Creative Team blog where they have a challenge which is all about ' holidays'.
